HE STOOD ALONE
Written by Jessica R. Holman
In Loving memory of her brother,
Jacob J. Brandt
"JAKE"
He stood alone with his fists in the air
Opened his eyes to the world anew.
Someone threw him a fastball
He caught it, but no one would take it back.
As he walked through life his fastball turned into a
boulder.
He tried to throw it back, but no one would take it back.
When his time came he dropped the weight and looked to
the heavens.
"Why must I carry this burden O Lord?"
"My body is tired and I cannot go on."
The the clouds parted and the sun shone down.
He felt warmth and peace.
So he sat on his rock and God took away his pain.
But for the first time he opened his fists.
He was holding the world and all the answers.
Once he knew, he smiled and exhaled.
He was forever at peace.
(We miss your smile, your hugs, your laughter, your self)
